The DE BEST Volunteer Committee Chair and Board members lead interactive bimonthly meetings intended to provide feedback for program development. Brainstorming is encouraged!

NOTE: Meetings typically occur bimonthly on the 4th Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Date and time are tentative until confirmed by the board at each prior meeting.

        DE BEST Committee Mission: To align with the organization’s mission, the committee acts as a volunteer-run and volunteer-attended engagement platform to provide direct feedback to DE BEST leadership about community needs, networking, recruitment, engagement, outreach opportunities, and other recommendations for team development and programming. DE BEST Mission: It is the DE BEST Team’s mission to build and enhance resilience in Delaware before, during, and after community crisis or disaster.

Your Volunteer Role
Volunteer Committee Meeting participants receive program updates, opportunities to network with teammates, and dedicated time for scenario skill building. Volunteers brainstorm ideas for recruitment, development, engagement, networking, and resources related to mental health, preparedness, self-care, and volunteering with DE BEST.
Your Opportunity Notifications and Reporting
You will receive an email once your participation is approved. A final reminder will be sent the morning of the meeting.
Please remember to clock in and out for your meeting time using the free Causer app or via the portal link provided in your reminder email. You will be asked to report (even if your response is "0" or "N/A") the following:
- The approximate number of people receiving emotional support
- How many resources you distributed
Other Information and FAQ
Volunteers are not authorized to deploy unless:
- Digitally signed the Code of Conduct and Photo Release Waiver Acknowledgement via your DETRAIN.org account, confirmed on your SERVDE.org profile by DE BEST staff.
- Completed all required trainings for your role, uploaded certificates to SERVDE.org, and confirmed by DE BEST staff. [View your training status under "Trainings" on SERVDE.org.] Check the DE BEST Volunteer Onboarding page for full details.
- Received confirmation from DE BEST staff that you are fully qualified for the volunteer role.
