Volunteer Opportunity: Family Emergency Preparedness Day – Camden (9/13)
Join DE BEST at this exciting community outreach event! Help connect residents with vital resources on mental wellness, emergency preparedness, and the Delaware Hope Line. You’ll play an important role in promoting safety, resilience, and volunteerism in Delaware communities.
Your Role as a Volunteer
- Staff the DE BEST resource table during your shift
- Distribute brochures, handouts, and HopeLine materials
- Engage with community members about preparedness, mental wellness, and DE BEST volunteer opportunities
- Build connections with local partners and organizations
Note: This is an outreach and engagement opportunity. It does not involve providing Psychological First Aid. However, volunteers should always be prepared to offer supportive, compassionate communication to fellow volunteers and community members if needed.

Volunteer Requirements
To participate, you must:
- Complete all required trainings through DETRAIN.org
- Sign the Code of Conduct and Photo Release Waiver (digitally)
- Upload all certificates to your SERVDE.org profile
- Be confirmed as a fully qualified volunteer by DE BEST staff

After You Sign Up
- We’ll review your profile to verify eligibility
- Approved volunteers will receive an email confirmation with event time, location, and parking info
- A final reminder will be sent the morning of your shift
Clock in/out using: the Causer app or the web portal link included in your final email. After your shift, you’ll be asked to report:
- The approximate number of people engaged
- The number of resources distributed
