DETAILS
University of Delaware's Health Sciences Department will be hosting their CHS Research and Innovation Day on March 20, 2025. Similar to other fairs, DE BEST will be providing our resources at a table, as well as Hopeline Resources to the UD Community. Please be prepared to stand at a table to distribute/ network for 2 hours. Only two volunteers are needed for this opportunity.

Volunteers who sign up for opportunities MUST have completed their required trainings and documents through DE TRAIN. The list of trainings can always be found on DPH/EMSPS RespondDE website here (the first table contains required trainings and documents for ALL volunteers). We will verify that you have successfully completed all requirements prior to authorizing your participation in an Opportunity.
If you have not completed all of the required documents and trainings, we will contact you directly to let you know what needs to be completed before you are eligible. If you receive the confirmation message with address and don't hear anything else from the team, you are good to go!
YOUR VOLUNTEER ROLE
The team's main function at outreach events is to spread the word about DE BEST, volunteer recruitment and resource sharing. Discuss and share resources for mental health, preparedness, self-care, and volunteering with DE BEST.
It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with available resources, such as those available on: DE BEST Volunteer Resource Summary. Please be prepared to stand at a table to hand out resources and network during your shift.
These events are not intended for the provision of Psychological First Aid; however, DE BEST Volunteers should be prepared to provide support to community members, other volunteers and partners at any time. Remember to join DE BEST Quarterly Meetings and/or DE BEST Volunteer Committee Meetings for real-time skill building and practicing.
AFTER YOU SIGN UP
Once you have signed up for this opportunity, your profile will be reviewed for accuracy and completion of required documents/trainings. You will be contacted if your profile does not reflect the proper requirements. If you feel the need for more direction, contact the Program Manager at 302.383.3130.
YOUR DEPLOYMENT NOTIFICATIONS and REPORTING
You will be emailed once your shift has been approved. A final reminder email will be sent to you on the morning of your deployment.
Remember to clock in/out for your shift. This can be done using the FREE "Causer" phone application, or through this portal (using the link included in your final reminder email). Keep in mind that there are questions asked regarding your activities when you "Sign Up" and during your "Clock Out".
Information requested about your shift during "Clock Out" include the approximate number of people receiving emotional support and approximately how many resources you distributed.
OTHER INFORMATION and FAQ
Volunteers will NOT BE AUTHORIZRED to deploy, unless:
- Digitally signed Code of Conduct and Photo Release Waiver Acknowledgement (through your DETRAIN.org account) confirmed signed via your SERVDE.org profile is confirmed by DE BEST staff, and
- All training/s required for the role have been successfully completed, certificate uploaded to SERVDE.org, and confirmed by DE BEST staff. [Once completd, Document and Training Qualifications may be viewed in your SERVDE.org profile under "Trainings".] Please check out your DE BEST Volunteer Onboarding page for a list of required Documents and Trainings.
- You've received confirmation from DE BEST that you are fully qualified for the Opportunity Role.
