How to Use the Volunteer Check-In Kiosk
When you arrive for a DE BEST opportunity, you may be asked to use a Check-In Kiosk powered by Galaxy Digital. This kiosk helps track volunteer hours, verify participation, and ensure accurate reporting for program operations and state partners.
Taking a moment to check in and out correctly supports program funding, readiness planning, and the ability to show the impact of volunteer service across Delaware.
What You Will See at the Kiosk
When the kiosk opens, you may notice a welcome message or instructions specific to the site. You will then be asked to choose one of two options:
- I Have an Account - Select this if you already registered on the DE BEST volunteer site.
- Create an Account - Choose this if you are new and have not yet registered.
If You Already Have an Account
Follow these steps to check in:
- Search for your account using your name, email address, or mobile phone number.
- Select This Is Me once you find your profile.
- The kiosk will display available opportunities. Click Check In for the one you signed up for.
- If you do not see your opportunity, choose View Other Opportunities.
- Select View Details to confirm the description and then choose Check In.
- Complete the Self Check-In form.
- Select Done after verifying your time and information.
When your shift ends, return to the kiosk to check out.
If You Do Not Yet Have an Account
If you are new to DE BEST or Galaxy Digital:
- Select Create an Account.
- Complete the registration form fully.
- After submitting, available opportunities will appear.
- Select View Details and then Check In.
- Complete the Self Check-In form.
- Confirm your time and select Done.
You may be required to submit qualifications or complete training before final approval. If needed, contact your DE BEST program facilitator.
How to Check Out
Checking out is just as important as checking in.
- Return to the kiosk and sign in.
- Select Check Out.
- Complete the Self Check-Out form.
- Verify both your start and end times.
- Select Done.
Common Questions
What if I do not see my opportunity?
Click View Other Opportunities. If it still does not appear, contact your DE BEST point of contact or site coordinator.
What if I am asked to submit a qualification?
Waivers can usually be completed directly at the kiosk. Other qualifications may require training uploads or certificates. Reach out to your site manager if you are unsure what is needed.
What if I cannot find my account?
Double-check that the information you entered matches your profile, especially your mobile phone number. If problems continue, ask your program facilitator for assistance.
What if I forget to check out?
Default hours for the opportunity may be automatically applied. Even so, always review your profile afterward to ensure accuracy.
Review Your Hours and Impact
After volunteering, log into your Galaxy Digital profile and review:
- Your Volunteer Resume
- Your Volunteer Snapshot
- The Track Hours section
Accurate hours help demonstrate community impact and inform state-level planning for disaster response and preparedness.
Private Opportunities
Some DE BEST opportunities are private and only visible to specific volunteer groups. You will only see these at the kiosk if:
- You belong to the assigned User Group.
- You received and responded to a direct invitation link.
