Our bimonthly Committee Meeting was on May 31st.
Adele Abrams, DE BEST Committee Chair.
We discussed meeting format, purpose and goals going forward. Participants provided feedback about ongoing program activities and suggestions for future development. Secretary position remains open, to be discussed at next meeting.

| 2) Review/Reconstruct Mission Statement |
(Skylar) - Reviewed purpose and role of DE BEST Committee. Extends appreciation for all participants devoting their time and efforts toward the program. Our corps depends on you all, and you've exceeded the purpose of the team and met the needs of our community because of it. (Adele) -Reiterated the DE BEST Mission and reminded volunteers that Secretary position remains open. |

| 3) Recruitment Measures

(Skylar) Gave a recap of the "Intro to Trauma Informed Approach" Workshop. As well as received feedback from volunteers for future workshops/trainings. Discussion: (Jeff)- Agreed that the training was fantastic. He mentioned we should set up a livestream or zoom for those who aren't able to make it to future trainings and workshops. (Ruth Ann) Mentioned how the training only scratched the surface and recommend we should do this specific trainings once a quarter. |
Action Item: Reach out to Marilyn about volunteers access to her trauma workshop presentation. |

4) Volunteer Development |
(Skylar) Reminded volunteers that the Food Bank Distribution will be starting back up in September. In the meantime please be on the lookout for outreach events. (Skylar) Announced the *NEW respondDE training requirements* to the our volunteers. Reiterated that all of our volunteers will need to be CPR certified and has until the end of summer to do so.

| 5) Engagement Opportunities
|
(Adele) made the volunteers aware of the increase in tornado responses these past few months. As well as to be prepared to respond to such responses this summer. (Ruth Ann) Mentioned we should have a workshop or training on a trauma informed school shooter training. (Skylar) Responded to Ruth Ann, letting her know one of our volunteers has been preparing to present a trauma informed school shooter training with his Grandsons and will be open to sharing the training at the next quarterly meeting |
