Disaster Response Efforts

DE BEST Responders with Psychological First Aid training is the minimum requirement. Please look at the Opportunity information for any other training or experience that may be required for any shift.

Please keep in mind that some responses call for mental health professionals (with licensure preferred) to be given first consideration for deployments. 

Do not self-deploy. You will be contacted with deployment details if your shift is needed.

Volunteers will support response efforts with emotional support. Observation, empathy and communication skills are employed to evaluate and respond for responders, volunteers and community members in need of PFA. Mental Health resources will be distributed as needed.
