November is a very important month. Not only is it a month to give thanks, spend time with family, and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. It is also a month where we come together to recognize the first Americans whom have made enormous contributions to the growth of the U.S..
Here is some quick history on when this day was established. The First American Indian Day was established in May 1916 by the governor of New York. Later on in 1990 George W. Bush made sure the whole Month of November was dedicated to "National American Indian Heritage Month". Currently, there are 573 Federally recognized Indian nations as well tribes all throughout the United States whom have been recognized by their State Government.
With that being said this month please take the time to learn more about the Native American Heritage traditions, languages, and stories. You may have some connections to it and learn a tradition or story that will impact you as well. Here at DE BEST we celebrate all races and their impact on our world today. It's pertinent to know more about each other so we can have connected community and better understanding of one another.
Hope you all are enjoying the month of November and getting prepared for all the holiday joy that's to come. This month is especially important because it is also dedicated to Native American Heritage. This month gives us the time to appreciate and get better understanding of the Native American culture.
