DE BEST Team FY23/24 Q2 Activities
RespondDE MRC DE BEST team exists to build community resilience and capacity for response in the event of a disaster or community crisis. This means our volunteers are pre-credentialed and pre-trained to respond effectively and efficiently. We encourage our volunteers to be prepared for disaster through training and ongoing engagement with community members.
This quarter was jammed packed with opportunities for DE BEST team members. We had numerous outreach opportunities which gave us the chance to distribute over 4000 mental health resources in the community as well as recruited 3 new team members. Thank you to all volunteers that were able to join us for this quarter's opportunities.

A great way to stay aware of and involved in team activities is to attend Team Meetings. Our Quarterly Meetings discuss the past quarter's activities, including outreach and trainings attended, and future plans. Each Quarterly Meeting includes a 'Training MInute' during which we share community programs and resources, build skills and/or highlight recent or upcoming training opportunities. Our last Quarterly Meeting was held October 11, 2023 and had (8) attendees. At this time, these meetings are being held virtually at 6:30 pm on the second Wednesday of January, April, July and October. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meeting January 10, 2024.
Another way for volunteers to be involved is through our bimonthly Committee Meeting. These meetings are volunteer-led and volunteer-attended and held virtually at 6:30 pm every odd numbered month. Our last meeting, November 28, 2023 (with 8 attendees), discussed recruitment and networking opportunities and reviewed volunteer database updates.
