Our bimonthly Committee Meeting was on March 28th.

We discussed meeting format, purpose and goals going forward. Participants provided feedback about ongoing program activities and suggestions for future development. Secretary position remains open, to be discussed at next meeting.

| 2) Review/Reconstruct Mission Statement |
(Skylar) - Reviewed purpose and role of DE BEST Committee. Extends appreciation for all participants devoting their time and efforts toward the program. Our corps depends on you all, and you've exceeded the purpose of the team and met the needs of our community because of it. (Adele) -Reiterated the DE BEST Mission and reminded volunteers that Secretary position remains open. |

| 3) Recruitment Measures

(Skylar) New Registrations have been increasing since the increase in opportunities. Discussion: Recruit from the colleges, psych majors helping out. (Skylar) Note that more opportunities for outreach events in the Spring and Summer. (Jeff) Suggested events such as the recent Rx Distribution at UD would be ideal to pass out resources. Also asked if there is a directory for 2023 with a list of events we can recruit at. (RuthAnn) suggested we could attain more volunteers from Powwows, which is a health related fundraiser. She also mentioned it would be a good idea to have a liaison from the Hispanic commission. |

4) Volunteer Development |
(Skylar) Announced to volunteers that we will be having an in-person interactive training for next training opportunity, as has been requested. We are in the process of attaining the site for in person training. Majority of participants voted for location to be: Dover. |
Action Item: Find a location in Dover to set up this in person training |
| 5) Engagement Opportunities

(Adele) requests ideas and comments for increasing volunteer participation in program activities (Anthony) Mentioned he will be creating a trauma informed school shooter training with his Grandsons over Spring break and will be open to sharing the training at the next meeting These are at-risk populations. Which would be another volunteer opportunity for DE BEST in the future. (Adele and Jeff) Referenced Outreach events, such as: Peach Festival, Delaware State Fair, and Famers Markets for future opportunities to hand out resources. |

(Marilyn) Reiterated to Anthony how the trauma informed training would be a great idea, and she is actually working with Celeste currently on a trauma informed approach based training. (RuthAnn) Mentioned she would love to collaborate with Marilyn (Anthony) Doing a training on Implicit Bias. Will send Celeste more information on how we can add that to our trainings in the future. |
