Our bimonthly Committee Meeting was on January 23rd.
We discussed meeting format, purpose and goals going forward. Participants provided feedback about ongoing program activities and suggestions for future development. Committee Board positions remain open, to be discussed at next meeting.

| 2) Review/Reconstruct Mission Statement |
Reviewed purpose and role of DE BEST Committee. (Skylar) - Extends appreciation for all participants devoting their time and efforts toward the program. Our corps depends on you all, and you've exceeded the purpose of the team and met the needs of our community because of it. |

| 3) Recruitment Measures
|
(Skylar) Announced a new Engagement Project we are opening up to volunteers to receive hours. The role would be making calls to other volunteers to spark more volunteer qualification completions and community engagement opportunities. (Volunteers) Provided feedback that would be a great idea and easy way to receive volunteer hours if you are unavailable for outreach opportunities |

4) Volunteer Development |
Discussion: Recap of the recent MHFA Training and reiterated that the next two sessions are scheduled for February 15th and March 19th. in the next following weeks we will be adding additional training dates to the portal. (Anthony) Asked for clarification on the difference between Psychological First Aid(PFA) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). (Skylar) Clarified that Mental Health First Aid is separate from Psychological First Aid. MHFA allows for early detection and intervention by teaching participants about the signs and symptoms of anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addictions for the purpose of calming and linking to resources. PFA is direction for how to engage someone that has recently experienced a crisis. (Cherjon)- Suggested that we should consider aiming for a weekend training due to volunteers work schedules. (Elizabeth and Rick) - Provided feedback that Mental Health First Aid training they received this month was very helpful as well as an provides extensive pre-work training. (Skylar) Reminded volunteers the importance of linking their DETRAIN account with SERVDE. Skylar went through the process with the volunteers via screen share. Discussion: Reviewed Upcoming Activities. (Skylar) Clarified that due to us being an outreach and disaster response program, activity days will always be unexpected and vary. (Skylar) Reminded our volunteers of the DE BEST Annual Winter Social on January 30th at the UD Paradee Training Center. As well as a new upcoming training dates/outreach. Advised volunteers to be on the look in their email. |
