 3) Recruitment Measures

(Skylar) Announced a new Engagement Project we are opening up to volunteers to receive hours. The role would be making calls to other volunteers to spark more volunteer qualification completions and community engagement opportunities.

Discussion:

Recap of the recent MHFA Training and reiterated that the next two sessions are scheduled for February 15th and March 19th. in the next following weeks we will be adding additional training dates to the portal.

(Anthony) Asked for clarification on the difference between Psychological First Aid(PFA) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA).

(Skylar) Clarified that Mental Health First Aid is separate from Psychological First Aid. MHFA allows for early detection and intervention by teaching participants about the signs and symptoms of anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addictions for the purpose of calming and linking to resources. PFA is direction for how to engage someone that has recently experienced a crisis.

(Cherjon)- Suggested that we should consider aiming for a weekend training due to volunteers work schedules.

(Elizabeth and Rick) - Provided feedback that Mental Health First Aid training they received this month was very helpful as well as an provides extensive pre-work training.

(Skylar) Reminded volunteers the importance of linking their DETRAIN account with SERVDE. Skylar went through the process with the volunteers via screen share.
